The day began with invocations, prayers and devotional songs followed by the welcoming of the esteemed guests from all walks of life by the Headmistress of the institute, Sameera Mane, with a presentation of mementoes to the guests.

The highlight of the opening ceremony was the ceremonial lighting of the Olympic Flame by guests. Torch-bearers carried the flame around the ground as athletes cheered, followed by the School Sports Minister taking an oath to uphold fair play. The mascot was released by the guests, signalling the formal start of the programme. The march of the school squads showcased unity and leadership, while welcome speeches in several languages and a captivating Welcome Dance set an exuberant tone for the day.

A gamut of events tested speed, agility and endurance: Running Race, Harvesters Race, Frog Jump, Kangaroo Race, Ready for the School Race and Eat the Banana Race, all conducted with participants displaying remarkable zeal. Parents joined in heartily, taking part in Running, Bounce the Ball, Three-Legged, and Shoulder Spirit, turning the day into a true community celebration. A high-spirited Sports Dance reminded everyone to meet life’s challenges with grace.

The Prize Distribution ceremony recognised student and parent winners, followed by enlightening speeches from the Chief Guests, whose words inspired students to pursue excellence with humility. The programme closed with votes of thanks. In her congratulatory message, the Headmistress Mane said, “The annual Sports Day was a scintillating celebration of sport, teamwork and hope, a lifelong, cherished memory for all who participated in it”.

She further reminded that sporting activities in any form should be a daily habit and also expressed her gratitude to the distinguished invitees for their encouragement of young champions.
