Belapur: The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) recorded an average rainfall of 57.33 mm across the city in the 24 hours ending 8:30 a.m. on August 12, as the monsoon continued its steady spell over the region.

According to NMMC’s rainfall data, Digha received the highest rainfall at 76.80 mm, followed by Kopar Khairane at 74.40 mm and Airoli at 73.80 mm. Belapur recorded 49.80 mm, Vashi 36.00 mm, and Nerul logged the lowest at 33.20 mm.

With this, the cumulative rainfall recorded across Navi Mumbai since June 1 has reached 2,170.38 mm.

Meanwhile, Morbe Dam, the city's primary water source, received 77.8 mm of rainfall on August 12, taking its cumulative rainfall since June 1 to 2,826.2 mm. The dam’s water level currently stands at 85.60 metres, or 88.06 per cent of its total capacity, indicating healthy water reserves ahead of the coming months.

High tide alerts have also been issued for Wednesday, August 12, with tides of 4.68 metres expected at 11:48 a.m. and 4.22 metres at 11:50 p.m.

On the incident front, NMMC’s Disaster Management Cell reported two short-circuit cases, one instance of tree fall, and one rescue call during the period.
