FWICE seeks FDA inspections at film sets over food hygiene

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has urged the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to conduct surprise inspections at film and television shooting locations across Mumbai over concerns about food quality and workplace facilities. In a letter to FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe, FWICE alleged that technicians and daily-wage workers are often served stale and substandard meals, with several locations lacking proper dining areas, clean drinking water and sanitation. General Secretary Ashok Dubey said workers deserve safe, hygienic food, and sought FDA intervention to inspect catering arrangements and ensure compliance with food safety standards.
