New Delhi: Karnataka’s Yashaswini Ghorpade continued her impressive run with a stunning win over the more experienced Sreeja Akula to clinch the women’s singles title at the Delhi Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships (CTTC) 2026, which concluded at the Thyagraj Stadium here on August 2.

Ghorpade, who won her first Senior National title in March this year, beat Sreeja 11-6, 11-1, 8-11, 11-7, 13-11 in the final to complete India’s near-clean sweep of the tournament.

In the men’s singles final, Ankur Bhattacharjee defeated compatriot Payas Jain in a dramatic seven-game contest. Payas had opened a 7-4 lead in the deciding game, but Bhattacharjee called a timeout that disrupted his opponent's rhythm, fought back to level at 8-8, and eventually sealed the title 11-9 when Payas’s final return went long.

India won all but one of the gold medals on offer at the championships. The lone title to elude the hosts came in the men's doubles, where Malaysia’s pair of Shen Qi Wong and Javen Choong upset the Indian combination of Manav Thakkar and Manush Shah in the final.

In the all-Indian women’s doubles final, Sreeja Akula and Syndrela Das beat Yashaswini Ghorpade and Divyanshi Bhowmick 3-1. In the mixed doubles, India's Manav Thakkar and Taneesha Kotecha staged a spirited comeback to defeat Malaysia's Ai Xin Tee and Richard Rui Zhe Yap 3-2.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta presented the medals and prize money to the winners.
