Panvel’s Swastika Ghosh wins gold at Commonwealth Table Tennis Championship

Panvel: International table tennis player Swastika Sandip Ghosh from Panvel has brought laurels to India, Maharashtra and the city by winning a gold medal at the Commonwealth Table Tennis Championship 2026 as part of the Indian team.

Swastika, a postgraduate student of the English Department at Changu Kana Thakur Arts, Commerce and Science College, New Panvel (Autonomous), run by the Janardan Bhagat Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha, represented India at the prestigious championship and played a key role in the team’s gold medal triumph.

Balancing academics and sport with remarkable dedication, Swastika has established herself as a promising international table tennis player through her aggressive playing style, technical skills and consistent performances at national and international tournaments. Her latest achievement has added another golden chapter to her sporting journey.

Her historic success has created an atmosphere of celebration in Panvel’s sporting community and has inspired young athletes across the region. Her achievement was widely appreciated by sports organisations, citizens and table tennis enthusiasts.

The management of Janardan Bhagat Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha congratulated Swastika for her outstanding performance.
