In a sudden move, the government has transferred Anil Diggikar from the position of Vice Chairman and Managing Director of CIDCO (City and Industrial Development Corporation). Vijay Singhal, a seasoned 1997 batch Indian Administrative Officer and the current General Manager of BEST (Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport), has been appointed to lead CIDCO.

Vijay Singhal brings a wealth of administrative experience to his new role, having served in various capacities within the Maharashtra state government. His diverse roles include serving as Assistant Collector in Malkapur, Buldhana, CEO of ZP (Zilla Parishad) in Ahmednagar and Aurangabad, Collector in Hingoli and Jalgaon, Municipal Commissioner in Kolhapur, Sugar Commissioner in Maharashtra, State Excise Commissioner, Commissioner of Industries for Maharashtra State, Additional Municipal Commissioner at Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, Municipal Commissioner in Thane, and Chairman and Managing Director of MSEDCL.

Notably, Singhal's tenure includes managing critical responsibilities such as overseeing major development projects like the Navi Mumbai International Airport, NAINA, and the upcoming Khopta city. As CIDCO's new Vice Chairman and Managing Director, he is poised to face challenges head-on and steer the corporation towards continued success.
