Kharghar: Firefighters from the Kharghar Fire Station rescued a five-year-old boy who was trapped inside a lift of a residential building in Kharghar on Thursday evening, September 18.

The incident took place at Kharghar Regency Icon Society, located at Plot No. 81B, Sector 19, Kharghar-Taloja Jail Road. After receiving information about a child being stuck in a lift, a fire brigade team along with a fire vehicle immediately rushed to the spot.

The lift had become stuck on the 20th floor of the building, with the child trapped inside. Firefighters initially attempted to open the lift door using the available key, but their efforts were unsuccessful. To keep the child calm and provide assistance, they passed a small bottle of water through the gap in the door and reassured him.

The team then used hydraulic spreaders and cutters to force open the lift door and safely rescue the child.

As soon as he was brought out, the child, identified as Kiyan Rahul Jagyashi (5), hugged his father and began crying. The emotional moment brought tears of relief to his parents, who thanked the firefighters for their swift response.

The rescue operation was carried out by CIDCO Fire Brigade personnel, including Prashant Darekar, P. R. Patil, P. C. Sonde, C. C. Pawar and P. S. Nikale, who played a key role in safely evacuating the child.
