Health Infrastructure Boost: ULMC inaugurates two news Urban Health Centres
Ulhasnagar: In a significant step towards enhancing urban healthcare, the Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation (ULMC) has inaugurated two new health centres: Ayushman Arogya Mandir - Urban Health Enhancement Centre at Sambhaji Chowk, Ulhasnagar-4, and Urban Primary Health Center-10 at Durgapada, Ulhasnagar. This initiative is under the guidelines of the State Government and the 15th Finance Commission, aimed at improving primary healthcare services.
The inauguration ceremony was held on Monday, 15th July and presided over by Administrator and Commissioner Dr. Aziz Sheikh. Key officials in attendance included Deputy Commissioner Medical Health Department Dr. Subhash Jadhav, Medical Health Officer Dr. Mohini Dharma, Public Relations Officer Ms. Chhaya Dangle, City Program Manager Dr. Vidya Chavan, City Accounts Manager Dinesh Sarode, along with medical officers and staff from all civil primary health centres.
Through the Ayushman Arogya Mandir-Nagari Arogya Vardhini Kendra and Urban Primary Health Center-10, ULMC will provide free health services to its citizens, as per the government’s guidelines. Services include free medical check-ups, medication, and access to expert consultations and referrals when necessary. Dr. Sheikh encouraged all residents to take full advantage of this ambitious scheme initiated by the Maharashtra Government.
Dr. Sheikh also directed the Medical Health Department to expedite the opening of the remaining Hinduhridaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Aapla Dawakhana and additional Ayushman Arogya Mandir-Nagari Arogya Vardhini Kendra centres to further enhance the healthcare infrastructure in Ulhasnagar.
