Kalyan: The Thane district girls’ team delivered an impressive performance at the state-level Roll Ball Championship held in Kolhapur, securing the bronze medal in the Under-20 and Under-17 categories.

The Thane girls’ team dominated the tournament from the beginning and defeated strong teams from Solapur, Satara, Nashik, and Nandurbar to reach the semi-finals. In a closely contested semi-final match against Mumbai City, the team displayed excellent skills and finished the tournament in third place.

Meanwhile, the Thane district boys’ team also put up a strong performance, finishing runners-up at the state level and securing the second position.

The achievement of the Thane teams was appreciated by Thane District Roll Ball Association Secretary Pratap Pagar and Holy Cross School Principal Sister Jacinta Suarez. They congratulated the players as well as coaches Ravindra Desai and Abarna Sethuraman for their efforts and guidance.

The Thane girls’ squad included Arya Burkule, Vaishnavi Surve, Kalyani Himgire, Prajwal Moreye, Sanskruti Dhamal, Antara Rai, Marinithyashree Moopanar, Swara Kale, Gauravi Mali, Sonakshi Ingle, Tanisha Medhe, and Vaishnavi Patil.

The players’ performance brought recognition to Thane district and highlighted the growing popularity and talent in roll ball sports across the region.
