Mira-Bhayandar: This Diwali, Mira-Bhayandar will proudly inaugurate Maharashtra's first-ever Balasaheb Thackeray Art Gallery, a cultural landmark dedicated to the late Shiv Sena founder. Built with an Rs 180 crore investment, the gallery is a major initiative led by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and State Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik. The gallery is set to open its doors to the public on November 17, commemorating Thackeray's death anniversary.

To promote learning and innovation, the gallery will offer free entry to school students between October 18 and 25 during the Diwali vacation. The Kids' Zone, featuring AI-based interactive technology, aims to introduce students to science and modern technology in an engaging way. Pre-registration will be required for access.

The gallery will be equipped with cutting-edge facilities, including a holographic projection of Thackeray, exhibits chronicling his life, legacy, and Shiv Sena’s history. It will also feature digital displays of his speeches, an amphitheatre, a museum, an e-library, a music centre, study zones for competitive exam aspirants, conference rooms, and a cafeteria.

Incorporating eco-friendly features such as solar energy, rainwater harvesting, and waste recycling, the gallery will cater to all age groups. Senior citizens can enjoy classic music collections, while students preparing for exams will have a dedicated space for study.

MLA Pratap Sarnaik expressed pride in the project, highlighting its role in promoting art, culture, and creativity in Mira-Bhayandar. The gallery is poised to become a vibrant cultural hub, enriching the city’s cultural fabric and inspiring future generations.
