Minor dispute ends in youth’s murder

Ulhasnagar: A minor dispute over a casual bump turned fatal in Ulhasnagar, where 29-year-old Nitesh Lodhe was allegedly murdered at Venus Chowk in Camp-4 amid the ongoing Ganesh festival celebrations.

The incident triggered anger and tension in the area. Acting swiftly, the Vitthalwadi Police arrested two suspects, identified as Vikas Pagare and Vikram Bavge, in connection with the murder.

Following the arrests, police took the accused to the crime scene and paraded them from Venus Chowk to Main Bazar. The move was aimed at sending a strong message to miscreants and reinforcing the fear of the law among those who resort to violence.

The police action comes at a time when large crowds are gathering across the city for Ganesh festival celebrations, making maintaining law and order a key priority.

Officials said the strict action was intended to convey that taking the law into one’s own hands would not be tolerated. The incident has once again raised concerns over how seemingly trivial disputes can escalate into serious violence.
