Ambernath: The Sharadiya Navratri festival organised by Jai Bhavani Paramparik Seva Sanstha at Bhavani Chowk in Ambernath West is witnessing an enthusiastic response from residents, with devotees and Garba enthusiasts gathering to celebrate the festival with fervour.
Now in its 29th year, the annual event is organised under the leadership of Shiv Sena city president Arvind Walekar, along with Manisha Walekar, Rajendra Walekar and Nikhil Walekar. On the second day of the festival, participants joined in traditional Garba, dancing to the rhythmic beats as the celebrations brought together people from across the locality.
The festival combines devotion to Goddess Bhavani with efforts to preserve traditional culture and encourage community participation. Women, young people, children and senior citizens have been taking part in the celebrations.
A notable initiative this year is the daily distribution of educational materials to children who participate in traditional attire and demonstrate their dancing skills. The organisers said the initiative aims to encourage young talent, build children's confidence and familiarise the younger generation with traditional cultural practices.
The organisers expressed gratitude for the response from residents, saying the festival provides a platform for cultural expression and social interaction while strengthening community bonds.
