Ulhasnagar: Anger erupted among women in Kaushalnagar, Ulhasnagar, after residents reportedly went without water for four consecutive days during the Navratri festival. Frustrated by the shortage, a group of women approached the Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation headquarters to demand an immediate restoration of the water supply but were stopped at the entrance by security guards.

The incident further fuelled their anger, as the women were unable to meet the concerned officials and explain their grievances. The protest has raised questions about the civic administration's handling of water supply, particularly during the festive season when households require water for daily activities and religious observances.

The controversy has also drawn attention because Kaushalnagar falls within the constituency of local corporator Deepa Narayan Punjabi, who serves as chairperson of the municipal corporation's Water Supply Department.

The prolonged disruption has reportedly affected residents' daily routines, forcing families to struggle to arrange water for essential needs. Women expressed their frustration over the situation and questioned how residents could be left without a basic necessity for four days, especially during Navratri.

The incident has renewed concerns about water distribution and supply management in Ulhasnagar. Residents have called on the civic administration to resolve the shortage without further delay and ensure a consistent supply.

The protesting women warned that they would intensify their agitation if water supply was not restored immediately. The episode has put the municipal administration under pressure to address residents' concerns and take effective steps to prevent similar disruptions in the future.
