Vashi: Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP), Vashi branch, organised its branch-level ‘Bharat Ko Jano’ Quiz Competition for junior and senior students at Arya Samaj, Vashi, on October 4. The annual competition, which began in 2001, saw enthusiastic participation from 106 students representing more than 15 schools across Navi Mumbai.

The contest was conducted in two categories — Junior for Classes 6 to 8 and Senior for Class 9 onwards. The first round featured a fill-in-the-blanks written test. The top two students from each school in both categories advanced to the second round, which comprised visual-based questions, direct question-answer rounds, and a buzzer segment.

In the Junior Category, Class 8 students Anay Chincholkar and Diyaan Gala of North Point School emerged winners. In the Senior Category, Class 10 students Vaibhav Tyagi and Ronit Pinto, also from North Point School, secured the top position.

The initiative seeks to familiarise students with India’s history, culture, heritage, traditions, achievements and diversity. Its objective is “To know India, to understand India and, through that knowledge, to develop pride and responsibility towards our nation.”
