Tilak Junior College hosts Genesis 2026

Nerul: Tilak Junior College of Science and Commerce, Nerul, hosted Genesis 2026, its annual science exhibition, featuring 120 projects by students from 55 institutions across Maharashtra.

Based on the theme ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, the exhibition showcased practical and innovative solutions to contemporary challenges. The event was attended by Mumtaz Syed, Founder Director of The Sky Explorers, Shishir Joshi, Founder and CEO of Project Mumbai, Karan Thakkar, CEO of The Recycling Company, and Meenakshi Balasubramanian.

Dr Ajit Kurup, Director of Tilak Education Society, said the exhibition aimed to encourage students to think independently, innovate and contribute to society.

Projects were evaluated on innovation, sustainability, presentation and overall merit.

In Category C (Classes 7-8), Vishwajyot High School, Kharghar, won first prize, followed by Sai Holy Faith High School, Kopar Khairne, and Sadhu Vaswani School, Sanpada.

Category B (Classes 9-10) was won by Dr Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel, with St Mary’s ICSE School, Kopar Khairne, and MNR School of Excellence, Kamothe, taking second and third places.

In Category A (Classes 11-12), Don Bosco Senior Secondary School, Nerul, secured first prize, followed by St Joseph’s High School and Junior College, Kalamboli, and Swami Vivekananda Junior College, Kopar Khairne.
