Panvel: The historic premises of Tata Power’s Khopoli Hydroelectric Project have been preserving the tradition of Ganeshotsav celebrations for over a century. Continuing the legacy this year, Tata Power employees created an attractive decoration highlighting the importance of clean energy and environmental conservation.

The eco-friendly display around the Ganesh idol featured miniature representations of lush green mountains, wind turbines, a cable-stayed bridge, solar panels, livelihood centres and electric vehicle charging stations. A welcome arch carrying the message ‘Green Energy for a Better Tomorrow’ was installed at the entrance, creating a unique blend of traditional culture and modern renewable energy concepts.

Meanwhile, the Bhira Hydroelectric Project of Tata Power has also been celebrating Ganeshotsav with devotion and enthusiasm for nearly 100 years. As the celebration moves towards completing a century, employees created a hand-crafted stone cave structure that became the main attraction this year.

The cave-like design, with a rocky texture, hanging vines and warm red lighting, added a distinctive charm to the festive atmosphere. A beautifully decorated idol of Lord Ganesha with floral arrangements was installed inside the artificial cave.

The celebrations at both Khopoli and Bhira projects reflected a harmonious combination of tradition, creativity and awareness about sustainable energy. Through their innovative decorations, Tata Power employees conveyed the message of adopting cleaner energy solutions while preserving cultural heritage. The initiatives showcased how festivals can become platforms for spreading environmental awareness and inspiring communities towards a greener future.
