Navi Mumbai: The Rojgar Mahakumbh organised at Rabale in Navi Mumbai provided 1,450 employment opportunities to young job seekers, with participation from 32 companies from the industrial, IT, logistics, retail, textile and service sectors. The initiative was organised as part of the Maharashtra government’s ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ under the Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Department.

NMMC Commissioner Dr Kailas Shinde interacted with job-seeking youth and stressed the importance of upgrading skills according to changing industry requirements. He said that employment opportunities must be supported by continuous skill development to help young people build successful careers.

The commissioner also urged industries to conduct skill development initiatives along with recruitment drives to prepare youth for evolving workplace demands. He added that the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation was taking planned measures to provide training aligned with the city’s growing employment opportunities.

The Rojgar Mahakumbh, held at the Thane Belapur Industries Association office in Rabale, witnessed participation from companies including Bharat Bijlee Ltd, Nocil Ltd, Godfrey Phillips India, Johnson Lifts, Utopia Tech and several other organisations.

The programme was part of a statewide campaign under which 418 Rojgar Mahakumbh events were organised simultaneously across the Konkan and Nashik divisions, including 43 in Thane district.

A large number of youth participated in the initiative held from 10 am to 4 pm, seeking career opportunities and guidance from participating companies.
