Kalyan: Over 150 people participated in a hands-on CPR training programme organised at Metro Junction Mall in Kalyan as part of the ‘Har Ghar CPR Hero’ initiative on the occasion of World Heart Day.

Metro Junction Mall organised the programme in association with Fortis Hospital in the mall’s main atrium. Customers, retail store employees, mall staff and personnel from security, housekeeping, fire safety, MEP and parking departments actively participated in the session.

The initiative aimed to spread awareness about the importance of immediate response during cardiac emergencies. Participants were trained in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Basic Life Support (BLS) and essential first-aid measures required during medical emergencies.

Dr Manjeet Singh Arora, Senior Consultant and Physician at Fortis Hospital and a National First Aid, BLS, and CPR trainer, guided the training. Nine CPR demonstration mannequins were used during the session, allowing participants to practise the technique under expert supervision.

The session focused on recognising cardiac emergencies, performing CPR correctly and providing immediate assistance until professional medical help arrives.

The programme was organised under the guidance of Mall Head Nitin Mhatre and Operations Head Swapnil Saigaonkar. The organising team included Devarajan Sapate, Abhilash Sunilkumar, Tejesh Satpute, Abdul Ansari, Hemal Rane and Deepak Patel.

Participants received CPR information booklets, heart-shaped badges, emergency contact fridge magnets and certificates for active participation. Through the initiative, organisers emphasised the need for wider awareness of life-saving CPR skills among citizens.
