Govt witness’s statement recorded in Shastrinagar Hospital doctor assault case

Kalyan: The hearing in the case related to the alleged assault on doctors at Shastrinagar Hospital, run by the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC), continued before the Kalyan District and Sessions Fast Track Court on September 19. During the proceedings, the testimony of a government witness was recorded.
The case pertains to allegations that doctors at Shastrinagar Hospital were assaulted. Police had seized a register, which was allegedly used during the incident. A seizure panchnama was prepared as part of the investigation, and the statement of a government witness linked to the seizure process was recorded before the court on Saturday, September 19.
The accused, Ramesh Mhatre, was present during the hearing. The defence argued the case through advocates Anant Patki, M. K. Qazi and U. Z. Qazi, while Public Prosecutor Prakash Salsingikar represented the prosecution.
The proceedings were held before District and Sessions Judge N. P. Vasade. The court recorded the witness’s statement as part of the ongoing trial, with further legal proceedings expected to continue in the coming hearings.
The next hearing in the matter has been scheduled for September 21. The case remains under trial, and further evidence and witness statements will be considered by the court during subsequent proceedings.
