Vashi: The 50th anniversary celebrations of ‘Vashi Cha Chintamani’ are bringing together spirituality, Indian culture, art, and social commitment at the Vashi Chintamani Mandap in Sector 2, Vashi. Organised by the Chintamani Public Ganeshotsav Mandal, registered in 1976, the 12-day celebration features the theme ‘Shri Krishna Vishwarup Darshan’.

A striking representation of Lord Krishna’s cosmic form, as revealed to Arjuna in the Mahabharata, has been created using eco-friendly materials. Episodes from the Mahabharata have been painted on canvas instead of conventional flex banners. The ten-headed Lord Ganesha idol was crafted by Mumbai-based sculptor Arun Datte, while the artistic concepts were developed by Chinmay Khamkar and Satwik Thackeray.

As part of its Golden Jubilee, the mandal planted 50 trees and organised a mini walkathon promoting health and fitness. A free health camp and blood donation drive held on September 20 saw 60 units of blood donated to Apollo Hospital. Sessions on business development, an artificial intelligence workshop for youth, and a robotics workshop for children were also conducted.

“Along with religious and cultural activities, an attempt was made to convey the message of ‘Healthy Society, Strong Society’ through Ganeshotsav,” said Mandal President Sharad Manisha Manohar More.

He added, “The concept for this Golden Jubilee celebration is a sincere attempt to convey the values and ideas of Indian culture, spirituality, the Mahabharata, and the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita to the new generation.”

Cultural Programmes

Cultural programmes include Mangalgaur and a Paithani Saree Home Minister contest for women. An orchestra will be staged on September 22, followed by Satyanarayan Puja on September 24.
