20 new train services on Seawoods Darave–Belapur–Uran route

Navi Mumbai: Commuters on the Seawoods Darave–Belapur–Uran route have reason to cheer as Central Railway (CR) plans to launch 20 additional local train services starting in October. The expansion comes ahead of the inauguration of the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), aiming to make travel faster and more convenient for daily passengers.
With the new services, the total number of train services on this route will increase from 40 to 60, significantly easing congestion. Currently, trains run at hourly intervals during peak hours and every 90 minutes during non-peak hours. The additional services are expected to reduce waiting times and improve the overall commuter experience.
Passenger traffic is expected to rise sharply with the opening of NMIA and the completion of Targhar railway station. Belapur remains the busiest station on this route, handling around 1.35 lakh passengers daily, followed by Nerul and Seawoods Darave.
