In an extraordinary display of determination and commitment, ten students from Sacred Heart School, Varap, Kalyan, successfully swam the 30 km stretch from Sri Lanka's Talaimannar to India's Rameswaram via the Ram Setu route. The awe-inspiring journey, undertaken to raise awareness about coastal pollution and marine conservation, concluded after 11 hours and 55 minutes of relentless effort.

The team of young swimmers, comprising Saksham Mhatre, Ronit Mhatre, Ninad Patil, Samrudhi Shetty, Tripti Gupta, Srirang Salunkhe, Trisha Shetty, Siddhesh Patra, Abhipreet Vikhare, and Amodini Todkar.

Undeterred by the challenges posed by rough seas, high waves, and gusty winds, the ten students, comprising six boys and four girls, embarked on their mission under the expert guidance of swimming coach Ramchandra Mhatre. Their journey commenced on April 13 at 00:05, with each stroke symbolizing their commitment to a cleaner, healthier marine ecosystem.

The initiative, conceptualized and executed by the students themselves, was meticulously planned over the course of a year. Spearheaded by sports incharge Vishwas Gaikar and with unwavering support from Sacred Heart School Director Albin Anthony and Principal Vanita Raj, the campaign aimed to champion environmental stewardship while showcasing the indomitable spirit of youth.
