Sindhu Bhavan in Ulhasnagar inaugurated by Public Works Minister

Sindhu Bhavan, a cultural and social hub built by the Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation, was inaugurated at Sapna Garden, Ulhasnagar-2. The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Ravindra Chavan, Minister of Public Works Department and Dr. Shrikant Shinde, MP Kalyan Lok Sabha.
The ceremony commenced with lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the commencement of a new cultural and social era for the residents of Ulhasnagar. Distinguished guests, including Municipal Administrator and Commissioner Dr. Aziz Shaikh, Gopal Landge Shiv Sena Kalyan District Chief, Former Mayor Pancham Kalani, Former Deputy Mayor Jeevan Idnani, and other dignitaries, graced the occasion with their presence.
Municipal Commissioner Dr. Aziz Shaikh expressed his satisfaction with the completion of Sindhu Bhavan, stating, "I am happy that the residents have got what they demanded. Though, there has been delay but the municipal corporation has always been striving for the betterment of its citizens”.
The building, costed Rs. 4.61 crores, comprises a ground floor and two floors, with a 300-seater auditorium on the second floor, equipped with audio facility.
Additionally, the inauguration ceremony witnessed the announcement of a new bus service at Shahad Bus Depot, Ajmera Project, Ulhasnagar-1. The service, funded by the Municipal Corporation under the NCAP scheme, will feature 20 buses, including 9 meters, 10 non-AC, and 10 of 12 meters, with AC buses. The Municipal Corporation has already received five buses, and charging stations and depots have been established for efficient operations.
In a significant development, the Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation has been approved to receive 100 E-buses under the Pradhan Mantri E-Bus Scheme, with a sanctioned fund of 23 crores for the construction of bus depots and charging stations. A "jetting cum suction vehicle" worth Rs. 56 lakhs for the Sewerage Department was also inaugurated during the ceremony.
Furthermore, a new "Maharishi Valmiki Udyan" was inaugurated in front of Swami Vivekananda School in the premises of Bhullar Maharaj, adding to the green spaces in Ulhasnagar.
Pancham Kalani, Former Mayor, acknowledged the efforts of the former MLA, Jyoti Kalani, in conceptualizing Sindhu Bhavan and commended the positive impact it would have on the local community.
The Public Works Minister, Ravindra Chavan, and MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde expressed their gratitude to everyone involved in the construction of Sindhu Bhavan and highlighted the approval of the UDCPR for Ulhasnagar city by the Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Ajit Pawar, focusing on dangerous and unauthorized buildings.
