NMMC Commissioner appeals to citizens to vote in upcoming general elections

With an aim to bolster voter turnout for the upcoming 25th Thane Lok Sabha elections on May 20, 2024, Dr. Kailas Shinde, the Commissioner of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), spearheaded a campaign to raise awareness about the importance of voting.

The initiative coincided with the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, with a significant event held on April 14, 2024, at Babasaheb's memorial in Airoli.

Dr. Shinde, accompanied by a cadre of officials and staff from various departments, visited the memorial to pay homage to Dr. Ambedkar and to encourage citizens to exercise their right to vote.

The Commissioner emphasized the significance of active participation in the electoral process and took the opportunity to capture the moment with a group photograph alongside the dedicated individuals engaged in election campaigning.

The event witnessed the presence of key figures such as Additional Commissioners Mr. Sunil Pawar and Mr. Shirish Aaradwad, City Engineer Mr. Sanjay Desai, Deputy Commissioner of Administration and Election Department Mr. Sharad Pawar, Deputy Commissioner of Social Development Department Mr. Kisanrao Palande, Deputy Commissioner of Circle 1, Mr. Somnath Potre, Executive Engineer Mr. Madan Waghchoude, Mr. Ajay Sankhe, Mr. Praveen Gade, Airoli Divisional Officer Mr. Ashok Ahire, Social Development Officer Mr. Sarjerao Parande, Sports Officer Mr. Abhilasha Mhatre, and numerous other officials.
