Mumbai Teachers and Graduates, Konkan Division Graduate Legislative Council Constituency Election Announced

Voting to be held on June 10, with results declared on June 13
The Election Commission has unveiled plans for the Maharashtra Vidhan Parishad Constituency elections, covering Mumbai Teachers, Mumbai Graduates, and Konkan Division Graduates Legislative Council Constituencies. Scheduled for June 10, with vote counting set for June 13, Konkan Divisional Commissioner P. Velrasu disclosed the details during a press conference. Alongside him were Deputy Commissioner (Establishment) Vivek Gaikwad, Deputy Commissioner (General) Amol Yadav, and Konkan Divisional Deputy Director of Information, Dr. Ganesh Mule.
Nomination papers for candidates will be accepted until 3 pm on May 22, with scrutiny set for May 24. Candidates can withdraw their applications until 3 pm on May 27. Voting for the three constituencies will occur from 8 am to 4 pm on June 10, with vote counting commencing at 8 am on June 13.
In the Konkan Division, a Code of Conduct Standing Committee has been established at the district level, featuring Collectors and political party representatives. Grievance Redressal Cells, Media Certification and Monitoring Committees, and Bharari Teams are also set up at the district level. Videography teams at the taluka level will supervise political party and representative visits to ensure adherence to the code of conduct. Commissioner P. Velrasu emphasized that the departmental-level complaint redressal cell will operate round the clock.
A total of 177,032 voters are registered across Mumbai Teachers and Graduate Constituencies, and the Konkan Division Graduate Constituency. In the Mumbai Graduate Constituency, 37,619 are female and 53,641 are male, totaling 91,263 voters. The Mumbai Teachers Constituency comprises 14,515 voters, including 10,849 women and 3,666 men. Similarly, the Konkan Division Graduate Constituency has 74,575 female voters and 102,442 male voters.
To encourage more voter participation, the voter registration deadline has been extended to 6.30 pm on May 12, 2024. Applications can be submitted online or offline at designated locations. Konkan Divisional Commissioner P. Velrasu has urged citizens to utilize the online application link provided at http://gterollregistration.mahait.org.
