Bhayandar: In a significant step towards strengthening healthcare access for the underprivileged, free CT scan services were officially launched on April 28 in the Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Hospital in Mira-Bhayandar. The initiative aims to provide comprehensive diagnostic support to economically weaker citizens of the city.
The facility, inaugurated by Mira-Bhayandar MLA Narendra Mehta, will primarily benefit in-patients (IPD) and out-patients (OPD) receiving treatment at the hospital. Citizens not currently undergoing treatment at the hospital can also avail CT scan services at affordable rates.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mehta said, "It has been a consistent effort to ensure that the residents of Mira-Bhayandar, especially the economically weaker sections, receive world-class medical facilities free of cost. The launch of the free CT scan service at Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Hospital marks an important milestone towards achieving that goal."
"This service will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, ensuring that emergency and routine diagnostic needs are met without any financial burden on the patients,” he said.
The installation and operation of the CT scan machine have been entrusted to Krishna Diagnostics by the state government.
