The Konkan Division of the Directorate General of Information and Public Relations has unveiled the Lok Sabha Election history booklet-2024, a crucial reference guide for journalists and stakeholders involved in the electoral process. Divisional Commissioner Dr. Mahendra Kalyankar presided over the release ceremony held today at the Revenue Commissioner's Office.

Dr. Kalyankar expressed his firm belief that this meticulously compiled booklet would serve as a valuable resource for journalists covering the Lok Sabha elections. The publication spans Lok Sabha constituencies across Thane, Raigad, Palghar, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg districts, presenting statistical data from the years 1989 to 2019.

The Lok Sabha Election history booklet-2024 includes comprehensive information on the Election Commission's Election Code of Conduct and Guidelines. It delves into the dos and don'ts during the Election Code of Conduct, offering crucial insights for political parties and candidates. The booklet also provides guidance for newspapers, details on voting machines, and information on addressing the issue of paid news during election campaigns.

The compilation of this pre-bench was a collaborative effort, led by the Divisional Information Office at Konkan Bhavan. Deputy Director Dr. Ganesh Mule played a pivotal role in editing the content, while Assistant Director Sanjivani Jadhav-Patil and Deputy Editor Praveen Dongardive provided valuable editorial support.

The release ceremony, held at the Revenue Commissioner's Office, saw the presence of key dignitaries including Palghar Chief Executive Officer Bhanudas Palve, Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Vivek Gaikwad, Deputy Commissioner (Development) Girish Bhalerao, and Divisional Election Officer Ajit Sakhre. The event highlighted the collaborative effort put forth by various departments to ensure the accuracy and relevance of the Lok Sabha Election history booklet-2024, strengthening the democratic process and journalistic coverage of elections in the Konkan Division.
