Kalyan: Ajit Karbhari, a resident of Kolivali village in Kalyan, has achieved a remarkable milestone in skydiving by performing a daring jump from 13,000 feet against the breathtaking backdrop of Annapurna Peak in Pokhara, Nepal.
The international skydiving event, organised by Team Bravo India from October 9 to 12, gave participants an opportunity to demonstrate their skills and experience adventure sports at an international level.
Karbhari jumped from a B-3 helicopter at Heli Buggy in Pokhara, with the majestic Annapurna Peak, which rises to 8,091 metres, forming the backdrop. During the descent, he performed several aerial manoeuvres, including a front flip, arch position, altitude check, 360-degree turn and tracking. He then initiated the planned parachute deployment sequence at the designated altitude.
After opening his parachute, Karbhari carefully followed the landing pattern, executing 360-degree, 180-degree and 90-degree turns while assessing wind direction. He completed the required manoeuvres at the appropriate heights and landed safely.
A total of 19 Indian youths from Team Bravo India participated in the international event. The skydives were conducted under the guidance of Surender, a renowned helicopter rescue pilot in Asia. Nepal Heli Buggy instructors Alish Thapa and Manish Hiracharan presented certificates to the participating skydivers in recognition of their participation.
The event was organised by Team Bravo India skydiver Rahul Dacre, with Om Katira serving as co-organiser. Its primary objectives were to provide young participants with practical international skydiving experience, encourage interest in adventure sports and prepare them for the upcoming National Skydiving Competition.
Karbhari’s achievement in Nepal marks another significant step in his sporting journey. His daring performance has earned appreciation from the local community in Kalyan.
