During their 191st clean-up drive on April 14th, the Environment Life Foundation embarked on a mission to completely clean the mangrove area near CIDCO Proposed Ground, Sarsole Jetty, Nerul within 9 weeks, in anticipation of their 200th Mangrove Clean-up Drive. Led by Dharmesh Barai, founder of Environment Life, volunteers ventured 150 meters into the mangrove belt, uncovering a large internal patch of approximately 400 square meters inundated with stagnant water filled with marine debris.

With unwavering determination, the marshals pledged to diligently clean this patch over the course of nine consecutive drives, culminating in a celebration of their 200th week of clean-up efforts at the same location. Dharmesh Barai emphasized the responsibility of the younger generation in preserving the breathtaking oceans, urging society to join their cause wholeheartedly.

Throughout their 1091 weeks of cleaning, the foundation has removed over 400 kilograms of trash, including plastics, medical waste, and household items. Their message resonates deeply: responsible waste disposal is crucial, and medical centers must refrain from polluting water bodies with hazardous waste.

Expressing gratitude to supporters like ACU Mumbai, the Mangrove Foundation, and the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, Barai and his team underscored the collective effort needed to preserve mangroves, wetlands, and biodiversity while advocating for a plastic-free environment.
