Poses great risk to motorists, especially two-wheelers
Motorists travelling on the Airoli-Mulund route, connecting Kalyan, Dombivli, and Navi Mumbai, are facing increased risks due to the absence of streetlights for the past 2-3 months. The Airoli Mulund Bridge and Airoli Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Smarak Bhavan main roads are currently plugged into complete darkness during night-time.
Two-wheeler drivers, in particular, are grappling with the challenging conditions, navigating the unlit roads that extend from Airoli to the Bhandup pumping station after passing through the toll booth. Ravindra Auti, a concerned citizen of Airoli, highlighted the issue, emphasizing that the lack of streetlights has resulted in increased accidents involving two-wheeler riders. The absence of proper lighting makes it difficult for riders to spot potholes on the road, leading to potential hazards.
