Actor Mukul Dev, known for his work in TV and Bollywood films like Son of Sardaar, dies at 54.

The exact reason for the actor’s death is still not known. He was ailing for the past few days and was in the ICU.

The actor is survived by his model-turned-actor brother Rahul Dev.

Mukul worked as a commercial pilot for around a decade Before becoming an actor.

His debuted in Mahesh Bhatt’s Dastak, which also saw Sushmita Sen making her entry into Bollywood.

Commenting on the death of Mukul, Vindu Dara Singh lamented that Dev would not be seen on the big screen again. Vindu had worked with Dev in Son of Sardar.

"After his parent's death, Mukul was keeping to himself. He would not even step out of the house or meet anyone. His health deteriorated in the last few days and he was in the hospital. My condolences to his brother and everyone who knew and loved him. He was an amazing person, and we will all miss him," Vindu said.

Mukul's friend and actor Deepshika Nagpal also posted a photo with the late actor on Instagram. "I woke up in the morning to this news. I have been calling his number since then, hoping he would pick up," she said, getting emotional.
