World Class Park planned for coastal road area: CM Eknath Shinde

Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde has announced plans for the development of a world-class park spanning 320 acres in the vicinity of the Coastal Road, named Dharmaveer Sambhaji Maharaj Mumbai Coastal Road. During his review of ongoing cement road works in Dadar and Worli, Shinde emphasized the need for expeditious completion before the onset of monsoon, directing the BMC and other relevant authorities accordingly.

Accompanied by Mumbai City District Guardian Minister Deepak Kesarkar, Mumbai Suburban District Guardian Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha, BMC Commissioner and Administrator I S Chahal, and Additional Commissioner Dr. Sudhakar Shinde, the Chief Minister inspected the progress of the Coastal Road project from Worli to Marine Drive, offering guidance to officials.

The BMC's construction of the coastal road is proceeding rapidly, with plans for a sprawling Central Park covering 320 acres along the coastal stretch, including the plantation of diverse tree species across 200 acres. Chief Minister Shinde expressed confidence that the coastal road would soon be accessible to the public, with the park envisioned to be of international standards.

Following the coastal road inspection, Chief Minister Shinde also assessed the cement road and concretization work at Ganpatrao Kadam Road, Seth Motilal Sanghi Road near Nehru Science Centre in Worli, and Dadasaheb Rege Road in Dadar. He engaged with local residents, instructing officials to prioritize both quality work and minimizing inconvenience to locals during the construction process.

In an environmentally conscious move, Chief Minister Shinde highlighted the inclusion of soak pits in the concretization work to facilitate water absorption during the monsoon season, underscoring the project's eco-friendly approach.
