The deteriorating condition of the Khopta Bridge - Koproli road has triggered a wave of accidents, causing distress among commuters and residents alike. With a noticeable uptick in night time accidents, the resulting traffic congestion has become a major source of inconvenience for the public. Frustrated by the situation, passengers are demanding swift accountability from the Highway Authority of India (HAI) and the responsible contractor for the road's maintenance.
The Uran East Division, propelled by the development spurred by the JNPA Port, is in dire need of upgraded communication facilities. In response, Uran MLA Mahesh Baldi allocated funds to bolster the infrastructure in the area. However, recent revelations indicate negligence on the part of officials and contractors associated with the project, leading to subpar workmanship and the consequent degradation of the road.
The compromised state of the road and the collapse of site plates have intensified safety concerns, resulting in a surge of accidents day and night. Commuters find themselves grappling with frequent traffic jams, posing significant risks to their safety. In light of these pressing issues, Uran MLA Mahesh Baldi is urging immediate action against the National Highway Authority of India and the relevant contractor to address the situation and ensure the safety of the commuting public.
