Uran city grapples with cleanliness issues amidst election preparations

top-news

With the Lok Sabha elections looming on the horizon, the focus on cleanliness in certain areas of Uran city seems to have waned, leaving residents grappling with an increasing spread of dirt.

Despite the nationwide call for cleanliness spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Uran Nagar Parishad finds itself stretched thin, unable to devote ample attention to maintaining cleanliness standards across the city. The current priority for government officials lies in election preparations, resulting in delays in addressing essential public services.

“The message of cleanliness resonated across the country, but unfortunately, amidst the election fervour, our efforts towards cleanliness have taken a back seat”, expressed a concerned resident.

Meanwhile, efforts to reach municipal officials for comment on the matter were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
