In a groundbreaking tribute to the esteemed poet and Nobel Laureate Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore on his 163rd Birth Anniversary, eleven major Indian states will unite in harmony. Under the title "Shato Konthe Rabindra Gaan," which translates to "Tagore’s songs rendered by 1000 artists together," a remarkable event is set to unfold on Sunday, May 12th.

The event, spearheaded by Kolkata-based Smt. Arundhati Deb of Sangeet Bharati Muktadhara, will showcase the collective talent of over 1,100 singers from West Bengal, Delhi NCR, Assam, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Telangana. Each state, represented by one major city or capital, will join forces to pay homage to Tagore through twenty soul-stirring songs, all performed simultaneously but from different corners of the nation.

In Maharashtra, the event will be hosted by the Navi Mumbai Bengali Association at the Vishnudas Bhave Auditorium in Vashi. The artistic brilliance behind this endeavor lies in the careful selection of timeless songs by Smt. Arundhati Deb, who has a commendable track record of hosting such concerts since 2007.

Nilanjan Bhattacharya, the Convenor and coordinator from Maharashtra, expressed the essence of the event, highlighting its unprecedented nature. "As many as 100 singers and vocalists from each state will render their voices in this unforgettable event, setting a new benchmark in Rabindra Sangeet history. This event, with over 1000 singers participating from different cities, promises to leave an indelible mark in the annals of Indian Music."
