ULMC and Thane traffic police hold meeting to review pre-monsoon preparation

Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation (ULMC) and Thane Traffic Police Deputy Commissioner's Office convened a crucial joint meeting on April 24th at the municipal standing committee hall to address traffic concerns and pre-monsoon preparations in the Ulhasnagar area.

 Commissioner Aziz Shaikh, along with Deputy Commissioner of Thane Traffic Police Dr. Vinay Rathore, Additional Commissioner Jamir Lengrekar, Assistant Commissioner of Police Vijay Pawar, and several other officials from various departments were present during the meeting.

The meeting commenced with a warm welcome to Commissioner Aziz Sheikh and Deputy Commissioner Dr. Vinay Rathore. Additional Commissioner Jamir Lengrekar initiated the proceedings by providing an overview of the previous meeting's directives and their implementation status.

Several critical decisions were made during the meeting to tackle pressing issues in Ulhasnagar city, including:

- Coordinated efforts to fill potholes before the onset of monsoon.

- Completion of ongoing major road works and ensuring their accessibility to traffic.

- Inspection and coverage of unauthorized rickshaws and stands.

- Joint initiatives to clear road encroachments and unauthorized stops.

- Crackdown on unauthorized parking, especially heavy vehicles.

- Preventive measures against individuals and vehicles causing obstructions to transport services.

- Implementation of color-coded road markings for traffic regulation.

- Enforcement of parking discipline on odd and even dates.

- Collaboration with traders' associations to ensure smooth traffic flow.

- Joint actions with traffic and RTO authorities against abandoned vehicles.

- Timely removal of waste cuttings by MSEDCL

The meeting also emphasized the importance of coordinating with MMRDA for the timely completion of ongoing projects in the city. MMRDA Superintending Engineer Korgaonkar assured adherence to the prescribed timelines.

Commissioner Shaikh directed departments to conduct surveys of hazardous buildings, clean drains, and prepare for disaster management ahead of the monsoon.

Dr. Vinay Rathod stressed the need for continuous coordination between traffic police and municipal authorities for efficient traffic management and public awareness campaigns.

Deputy Commissioner Kishore Gavas extended gratitude to all attendees for their participation.
