Thane: Approximately 572 informal dwellings located in Rupvate Nagar, Milind Nagar, Pharlewadi, SRA projects, and footpaths in the Magathane region will be affected by the Thane-Borivali twin tunnel project.
The proposed twin tunnel project between Thane (Tikujiniwadi) and Borivali–Magathane.
To ensure timely and unhindered completion of this critical infrastructure project, MMRDA has announced three resettlement options and requested all affected families to submit their written preference.
The three preferences include monetary compensation, permanent housing and rehabilitation through SRA scheme.
As per MMRDA’s monetary compensation policy, eligible PAPs may opt to receive financial compensation based on the area of their affected structures.
MMRDA will provide permanent housing units either in the Borivali Integrated Housing Complex or in the Rental Housing Scheme at Mira-Bhayander.
Developed by M/s Gujarat and M/s Sonam Enterprises, the units will be allocated based on the choice of the affected families.
As part of the Rehabilitation through SRA scheme, PAPs may also opt to be included in the Slum Rehabilitation Authority project being executed by Bhardwaj Developers. PAPs will be provided permanent housing at the same location after redevelopment. Until then, they will be allotted interim rental accommodation or alternate housing.
MMRDA has formally informed all PAPs to choose one of the above options and submit their written application without delay.
