Matheran: Three youths from Navi Mumbai drowned in Charlotte Lake in Matheran on June 15. The deceased have been identified as Sumit Chavan (16), Aryan Khobragade (19) and Firoz Sheikh (19).

According to police, one of the boys accidentally slipped and fell into the lake. In an attempt to save him, the others jumped into the water. Unfortunately, all three drowned.

The Matheran police, in coordination with the Sahyadri Rescue Team and the Help Foundation, conducted an intensive search operation throughout the night. The rescue teams recovered all three bodies during the night.
