The BEST employees will receive Diwali bonuses with assurance from the commissioner of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), following in-depth discussions on the various challenges and demands the workers face.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP Supriya Sule took an active role in this matter, inspecting the issues faced by BMC's Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) undertaking's employees and subsequently organised a meeting with the BMC Commissioner to address their demands.

Following this meeting, Supriya Sule informed the media that many of the Nationalist Congress Party's demands had been met, marking progress on several fronts. Sule mentioned that BEST has extended benefits not only to permanent employees but also to contract workers, which is a gratifying development. She also highlighted that in areas such as cleanliness and infrastructure, particular attention is being given to senior citizens. To address these issues, a one-month deadline has been requested. She added that she would personally follow up on these matters after the one-month period.

She said that discussions about prepaid meters were also held in the context of BEST, and the state government is currently gathering information about the directives from the central government. Consequently, Sule stated that the general public will receive information on this matter in the coming days.

She further addressed the issue of pollution in Mumbai, highlighting that the senior officials at BEST have made decisions to amend certain laws and regulations related to pollution. She has also shared information about this through her tweets, encouraging everyone to stay informed. The significant impact of air pollution in Mumbai, particularly affecting children, women, and the elderly, underscores the urgent need for both the government and the municipal corporation to make substantial and impactful decisions in response to this issue.

In regards to the Diwali bonus for contract workers, she stated that the commissioner has provided assurance that the bonus will exceed the employees' expectations. She has also submitted a proposal in this regard and requested a one-month timeframe, emphasizing the need for everyone to patiently await the outcome.

Supriya Sule addressed the Maratha reservation issue, characterizing the government as corrupt and deceptive, stating that they have failed to meet the 30-day deadline. She acknowledged that the Jarange Patal community has given the government an additional 10 days to resolve the matter. However, she emphasized that this government has only deceived the Maratha, Dhangar, Lingayat, and Muslim communities regarding their reservation concerns.

“These transgressions have all been carried out by the Bharatiya Janata Party and its coalition partners. Presently, the government has encountered severe failures on numerous fronts, including women's rights, reservations, inflation, and unemployment, despite the presence of this triple-engine government. They possess a considerable number of MLAs and MPs, numbering around 200 and 300, respectively. Yet, they are still unable to resolve these issues?” said Supriya Sule.

Prominent figures like Raakhi Jadhav, the Mumbai President of the Nationalist Congress Party, Nitesh Bhosale, the Mumbai Pradesh Yuvak President, Suhas Samant, the President of the BEST Kaamgar Sena, Mahendra Salve from SC/ST/VJ/NT BEST Karamchari Sangathna, Amit Hindalekar, the Vice President, and Sachin Narkar were present along with Sule at the BMC headquarters.
