The Maharashtra State Backward Classes Commission has initiated a comprehensive state-wide survey to assess the demographics and socio-economic status of the Maratha community and open category families. The survey, which commenced on January 23, is scheduled to conclude on January 31, 2024.

Under the dynamic leadership of Municipal Commissioner Rajesh Narvekar, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation has mobilized a robust team of over 1100 dedicated employees to facilitate the survey. Trained supervisors and enumerators are equipped with a specialized government-developed app to ensure accurate and timely data collection during house visits.

The State Backward Classes Commission has issued directives to conduct the survey meticulously, and the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation employees will be actively engaged in home visits within the corporation area. The survey aims to gather information in the prescribed format provided by the government to comprehensively understand the socio-economic landscape of the Maratha community and open category families.

The Commissioner has urged citizens to provide accurate information during the survey and extended a request for full cooperation to the employees involved in data collection. The survey is expected to yield valuable insights that will contribute to policy decisions and welfare initiatives aimed at addressing the needs of the Maratha community and open category families.
