Against the backdrop of recent escalating violence and lawlessness in the state, Sharmila Thackeray, addressing a gathering organized by Navi Mumbai City MNS, called for a unique solution to address the issue. Sharmila Thackeray proposed a 48-hour exemption for the police, free from any political pressure, believing that such autonomy would empower them to restore order in Maharashtra.
Referring to Raj Thackeray’s earlier statement about the Maharashtra police's capability to rectify the state's situation within 48 hours, Sharmila Thackeray echoed the sentiment. Emphasizing the need for the government's attention, she urged that the police be allowed to function independently to avoid political interference.
Sharmila Thackeray's statement aimed at drawing the government's attention to the critical situation in Maharashtra and urged proactive measures to prevent further deterioration. She asserted that granting autonomy to the police for a brief period could lead to significant improvements in the law and order scenario.
The event, organized by Navi Mumbai City MNS, featured various programs, including a brass band, folk art competition, Naka branch activities, Haldi Kumkum, and a competition for students. Sharmila Thackeray inaugurated these initiatives, emphasizing the role of cultural and community events in fostering unity and engagement.
Accompanying Sharmila Thackeray at the inauguration was MNS leader Rita Gupta, adding collective support to the initiatives aimed at addressing the current challenges faced by the state.
