top-news

In response to the recent Supreme Court decision on retrospective property tax, the Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) has organized special camps in Kharghar to facilitate property tax payments. These camps, initiated as per the directives of Commissioner Mangesh Chitale, have garnered significant enthusiasm from citizens aiming to settle their dues conveniently.

The camps commenced on June 22, 2024, across 36 societies in Kharghar, including Nisarg Group Hyde Park, Jalvayu Vihar, Celebration K H4, Raghunath Vihar Army CHS, Spaghetti, and Kesar Garden. An official from the civic body informed that the camps will continue until June 30, 2024, with further sessions scheduled in other societies throughout the week.

Since the beginning, these camps have witnessed a remarkable response, with approximately Rs. 4.27 crores collected from Kharghar alone. The enthusiasm is part of a broader initiative to comply with the Supreme Court's interim judgment directing the payment of all property tax dues from the assessment year 2021-22 within two months.

Mr. Chitale urged property owners to utilize the facilities provided, such as the PMC TAX APP for online payments or visiting the municipal office for revised tax assessments. Additionally, the municipal corporation has extended a 5% discount on current tax demands until June 30, 2024, further incentivizing prompt payments.

For more information and assistance, property owners are encouraged to visit the municipal website at www.panvelmc.org or contact the toll-free number 1800-5320-340.
