Kalyan: Deepak Sakpal, representative of the Ambivali Railway Passengers’ Association, has called for immediate action to resolve several critical issues at Ambivali station.

In a written appeal to the Kalyan-Kasara-Karjat Railway Passengers’ Association, he highlighted the poor condition of the station’s platform, which suffers from water leakage during the monsoon. Sakpal has urged for urgent repairs or replacement of the platform’s roofing before the rains begin.

Safety concerns have also been raised due to the absence of approved CCTV cameras, and Sakpal has demanded their immediate installation. Additionally, passengers face inadequate facilities such as toilets, drinking water, and seating.

He has requested the installation of fans and benches, similar to those at Shahad station, and better lighting to address visibility issues.

The station’s cleanliness is another concern, with regular cleaning needed to improve hygiene. Sakpal also pointed out the wide gap between the platform and trains, making it difficult for passengers to board and alight, and has called for the platform height to be raised like at Kalyan station.

Other suggestions include separate entry and exit points for better crowd management, a new ticket window, and more ATVM machines for easier ticketing. To enhance security, Sakpal proposed barricades along the tracks and female officers from GRP and RPF for women’s safety.

Sakpal has urged railway officials to conduct an inspection to address these issues, with passengers eagerly awaiting action.
