NMMT electric buses launched on Uran route

Uran: Responding to passenger demand, NMMT has launched electric buses on the Uran to Kopar Khairane route since April 22, offering relief to passengers in the scorching summer heat.

While the local service from Uran to Nerul/Belapur has started, many passengers still prefer the NMMT buses.

However, the buses operating in Uran are old and in poor condition, causing inconvenience. Issues like broken glass and missing windows are common on the Uran to Kopar Khairane and Kalamboli routes.

The NMMT service is crucial for women, senior citizens, and students in Navi Mumbai, but the limited number of buses has led to continued passenger hardship.

Passengers have requested an increase in buses and the introduction of more electric buses. Following repeated demands and protests, the service was reinstated.

Additionally, residents have urged for the restoration of the air-conditioned service from Juinagar to Koproli Vasheni, which was suspended after an accident in Khopte.
