Nerul Gymkhana unveils state-of-the-art International pool

A state-of-the-art 50 metre international pool was inaugurated at Nerul Gymkhana on 9th March, 2024 by the commissioner of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), Rajesh Narvekar in the presence of Kailash Shinde, Jt MD CIDCO, Manu Kumar Srivastva, Chief Commissioner RGS, and former Indian cricketer Balwinder Singh Sandhu. Also present on the occasion were celebrated athletes  Barkha Kedia Agrawal, Rupali Repale, and Shubham Vanmali, all recipients of prestigious national and international accolades in open water swimming.

The newly inaugurated pool boasts a comprehensive range of facilities catering to all levels of swimmers, including coaching programs for beginners, intermediate, and advanced swimmers, as well as specialized training in water polo and competitive swimming. Moreover, the pool will offer certification programs in scuba diving, life-saving techniques, and lifeguarding, along with tailored coaching for differently-abled individuals. Also in the offing are a wide array of facilities including swimming coaching for all levels, water polo coaching, district, state, and national level competitive coaching, scuba diving certification programs, life-saving and lifeguard certification programs, coaching for differently-abled kids, aqua physiotherapy, aquatic weight loss programs, aqua Zumba, aqua cycling, aqua gym, and aquatic exercises for expectant mothers.

Vikkas Shetty, General Secretary Nerul Gymkhana Trust  said, "Looking ahead, Nerul Gymkhana Management pledges to organize regular state and national-level championships, fostering talent and propelling Navi Mumbai onto the aquatic sports map of India. Additionally, Nerul Gymkhana Management will organize State and National level championships regularly to provide exposure to budding swimmers. It is our commitment to put Navi Mumbai on the aquatic front."
