The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) in Uran Taluka has raised concern regarding the deteriorating condition of the Khopta Bridge - Koproli road. The road, known for its substantial traffic of heavy vehicles, has suffered significant wear and tear, necessitating urgent action.
In a statement directed to Rupali Patil, an engineer from the Public Works Department, the MNS has fervently called for the concrete surfacing of this critical roadway. At present, the road is surfaced with sheet material, which is proving inadequate to withstand the constant flow of cargo container trailer trains from the JNPA Port. These trailers cross the Khopta Bridge to reach Koproli road throughout the day and night, contributing to the road's degradation.
The repercussions of this deteriorating infrastructure are acutely felt by daily commuters, students, small vehicle drivers, and the local workforce. The MNS Uran Taluka President, Satyawan Bhagat, has passionately urged the Public Works Department to initiate a comprehensive project to widen and concrete the two-kilometre stretch of Khopta Bridge - Koproli road under their authority.
During the official communication, Engineer Rupali Patil from the Public Works Department was apprised of the urgent need for this infrastructure overhaul. Present at this discussion were Deputy Taluka President Rakesh Bhoir, Division President Sandeep Thakur, and Sahadhan Ghangali, signifying the collective and unwavering demand for immediate action.
The MNS's appeal serves as a clarion call for the authorities to address this pressing issue, which affects both the road's usability and the safety of the community. A comprehensive concreting project is seen as the only viable solution to rectify the situation and alleviate the woes of those who rely on the Khopta Bridge - Koproli road for their daily activities.
