Mira Road: The Crime Branch Unit 1 of Kashimira successfully seized 8.214 kg of ganja (cannabis) valued at Rs 1.2 lakh. The seizure was made during a routine watch and patrol operation on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway.

The police team was patrolling near Hotel Karima on the service road when they noticed a man standing suspiciously next to a motorcycle. The individual, wearing a backpack, appeared to be loitering in a manner that aroused the team's suspicion.

The suspect was frisked which led to recovery of ganja weighing 8.2 kg.

Subsequently, an FIR was registered at Naigaon Police Station under NDPS Act, 1985 Sections 8(c), 20(b), and 22(b).
