Mira Bhayandar: The Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) has launched a new initiative to promote local talent by offering them easy accessible places to perform in public. Titled Sunday Garden, the initiative was officially launched on May 4 at Gyanjyoti Savitribai Jyotiba Phule Udyan in Mira Road (East).

Commenting on the new initiative, Radhabinod Sharma, municipal commissioner, said, “The Sunday Garden initiative aims to create a platform to showcase local talent. Through this programme, both budding and seasoned artists will be given the opportunity to perform in public spaces.”

“The opening evening brought together performers of all ages from children to seniors who entertained audiences with dance, singing, mimicry, and magic acts,” the official said.

Following its successful launch, Sunday Garden is set to become a weekly event. MPMC has chalked out plans for performances for May 11 at Salasar Hanuman Udyan in Bhayandar (West), May 18 at Jaisal Park Chowpatty in Bhayandar (East), and May 25 at Ramdev Park (Reservation No. 242).

“Each week, a different park across the city will host performances, creating a roaming cultural festival for residents,” Sharma added.
