An accident happened early Friday morning in front of Murphy Company bus stop in Thane, near Honda Showroom on the Nashik-Mumbai highway, as a medicine truck collided with a tree and overturned. Adding to the chaos, a car trailing behind the truck also collided with the overturned vehicle. Remarkably, all five occupants of the car survived the ordeal.

The incident, which occurred around 6:30 am, caused significant traffic disruptions for approximately an hour, reducing the flow to a single lane. Witnesses reported that the truck driver fled the scene following the accident.

The truck, driven by Jagdish Gautam (40), was transporting 10 tonnes of medication from Nagpur to Ghatkopar, Mumbai. Meanwhile, Krishna Nanda (19) was driving a Maruti Suzuki Baleno, accompanied by four colleagues, from Mulund Colony.

The collision happened when the truck lost control and collided with a large tree, causing it to overturn. Subsequently, the Baleno car collided with the overturned truck. Fortunately, all occupants of the car, including Prathamesh Shinde, Bhavesh Dhandravu, Angel John, Milind Shinde, and Krishna Nanda, escaped without injury.

Emergency response teams, including traffic police, Naupada police, and disaster management fire brigade personnel, swiftly responded to the scene. Utilizing a hydra machine, they managed to clear both vehicles from the road, restoring traffic flow. Additionally, the tree obstructing the roadway was promptly removed by personnel from the Disaster Management Unit and the fire brigade.
