Mahila Samman Marathon sees over 350 women celebrate Stree Shakti

Kalyan: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Jeevandeep Educational Institute’s ‘Mahila Samman Marathon’ witnessed an overwhelming response from women, with over 350 participants celebrating ‘Stree Shakti’ through fitness and social commitment. The marathon, held on Sunday, combined academic, sports, and community engagement to mark the special day.

The run commenced from Padmavati Building in Titwala and concluded at Ghotsai Phata. Former Zilla Parishad member Jayashree Sase inaugurated the event, raising the ceremonial flag to mark the occasion.

The programme was attended by Murbad Assembly MLA Kisan Kathore, BJP Youth Leader Dinesh Kathore, entrepreneurs Mangesh Bankari, Chintaman Magar, Reshma Magar, Shekhar Lone, and several other dignitaries from political and social circles. The event drew participants across generations, from young women aged 18 to senior citizens aged 60, reflecting the enthusiasm and energy of all involved.

Winners were honoured with a Paithani sari, cash prizes, and mementoes. A lucky draw was also organised, offering additional Paithani gifts to the winners.

The successful execution of the marathon was credited to the guidance and support of Jeevandeep Educational Institute’s leadership team, including Chairman Ravindra Ghodvinde, Directors Prashant and Smita Ghodvinde, Principal Dr Ashok Wagh, Vice-Principal Harendra Soshte, Junior College Principal Prakash Rohane, Nirmal English Medium School Principal Bhavana Kumbhar, as well as sports coaches Mohnish Deshmukh and Nikita Raut.

The event not only highlighted women’s strength and participation in sports but also underscored the institution’s commitment to promoting women’s empowerment and community engagement.
